For those coming from overseas, the new Kansai International Airport is just an hour away. Japan residents who live outside the Kansai have the option of flying into Shirahama airport, located just outside the famous resort town. Travel from Shirahama to Gobo by car takes about an hour.
Gobo Station is an express stop on the Kuroshio Limited Express that runs from Osaka to Shingu along the shore of the Kii Penninsula.
Gobo is also the final exit on the Hanwa Expressway, making a trip from Kobe, Osaka, Kyoto, and even Tokyo and Hiroshima, a non-stop affair.
